PORNOGRAPHY (January 6, 2011)
Pornography leaves me cold. Much of it strikes me as sheer kitsch. And nearly all of it is pitiful to behold. Even more pitiful, there are so many men all over the world who are jerking off as they are ferreting through so many silly pictures of fake beauties and even faker sexual encounters. As I write, too. And there are so many of them, indeed. Zillions. All World Wide Web statistics regarding its usage by subject show that pornography is the main reason for its very existence. And no kidding. But I just realized that pornography is actually a boon. So many tons of semen going down the drain. As I write, once again. So many women saved from rapacious men in search of a quick fix to the meaninglessness of their lives. And so many hapless children less on this suffocated planet. Yes, pornography is a good thing. A boon, no less. And so is the World Wide Web. Jerk off, darlings, in the hope that you will never procreate. Never ever. Jerk off as often as you can and do not worry a single bit about the fickle future.
Addendum (March 18, 2016)
I was surprised when I came across this piece in one of my uncharted journeys through my writings. Pornography? At first I thought it was about Witold Gombrowicz, whose writings include a novel by this very title. When I read the piece, though, I was quite pleased with the syllogism it celebrates. That is, pornography means masturbation, and masturbation means less humans on the planet. Splendid. The World Wide Web thus offers a great service to humanity, which needs celebrating far and wide rather than lamenting, as is usually the case. To my shame, I completely forgot about this wonderful piece in the intervening years. Three cheers for pornography!
