If I am more optimistic than most about today’s match between Dinamo Zagreb and Real Madrid, it is because I count with a Gargantuan chip on Croatian shoulders.

Addendum I (September 15, 2011)

Real Madrid won by the slimmest of victories. And Dinamo Zagreb lost by the slimmest of defeats. All in all, the chip on Croatian shoulders has shrunk considerably yesterday. Which will make the rematch, to take place in Madrid this time, so much tougher for Dinamo Zagreb. Alas!

Addendum II (November 22, 2011)

Of course, Dinamo Zagreb was devastated in the rematch with Real Madrid. And they lost as badly as their most fainthearted fans feared they would lose the first time around. As I predicted, the chip on Croatian shoulders had shrunk so much over more than two months separating the two matches that there was no chance for anything but their complete and total debacle. Mind you, I know next to nothing about soccer, but I know many other things, such as Gargantuan chips on shoulders.
