NEW FEUDALISM (September 1, 2011)

Whenever I chance upon someone clever, I air some of my pet ideas, most of which are on the outlandish side of the spectrum. All I want is to see how they fly. That is, how outlandish they really are. Today I talked with a young man whom I met a year ago or so, and who immediately struck me as both knowledgeable and bright. At some point he mentioned the private armies that are springing up around the world. Such armies are employed even in Iraq and Afghanistan alongside the American forces. It did not take me long to introduce the subject of new feudalism. Private armies will come handy in staking out new domains. As well as keeping them safe and sound for their new owners. The collapse of capitalism will usher a return to the system of landownership which is understood pretty well to this day. Of course, the new system will not be exactly the same as the old one, but it will be recognizable enough. Anyhow, the young man I was talking with did not bat an eyelid at all this. As new feudalism has passed the test with flying colors, the next time we get a chance to talk I will air a few other pet ideas of mine.
