When I googled “residua raising dust,” I did get a couple of items related to my humble contribution to the current exhibition at Calvert 22 Gallery in London, but then I came upon something entirely different, and much more exciting: wind and dust storms close to polar caps on Mars. Apparently, both southern and northern cap on the neighboring planet almost certainly contain water. As the caps wane with seasons, dust activity takes place close to their edges. Dust devils are reported, too. This happens just before the ice in the caps melts away, whence the notion of “residual” caps. Searching a bit more, I came upon Mars in quite a number of websites dealing with dust. And all this with my innocent search words. But my elation is hard to explain, except in terms of my elective planet. Ah, if only I were a Martian! Or, perhaps even better, if I could ever become one on account of my heartfelt affinities.
