MY DAILY ROUTINE (October 13, 2011)
My daily routine is becoming ever more ridiculous as time goes by. I spend some time reading the news and checking the stockmarkets on my computer. Another chunk of time goes to observing the passers by in outdoor cafés. The remainder I spend reading a growing number of books about the decline and fall of Rome. What is ridiculous in all this is that everything eventually gets jumbled up in my mind. It is increasingly difficult to tell apart different parts of my routine. Are the passers by aware of the stockmarkets? What are the news about the decline and fall of Rome? How many of the passers by descend from Romans? By and by, it is becoming ever more difficult to disentangle meaningful from meaningless questions. They merge as if by magic. Come to think of it, is there anything truly ridiculous about my daily routine, though?
