A COMFORTING THOUGHT (September 21, 2011)
I woke up in the middle of the night. It was not yet four o’clock. Covered with a sheet only, I was shaking with cold. I had to get up to fetch a quilt. Properly covered, I slept like a baby through the morning. But before I fell asleep again, I wondered about the weather. I needed the quilt on the very day that marks the beginning of the fall. A comforting thought. No matter how much the weather has changed lately, the equinox still means something. Anyhow, I woke up past ten o’clock.
