THE TIMEBOMB WARNING (February 4, 2014)
The World Health Organization has issued a so-called timebomb warning that alcohol, smoking, and obesity fuel the cancer surge. And statistics show that the surge is surging. Prevention is therefore key. To my joy, I have been doing my best to comply. Of course, obesity translates into overeating, and I am well on the way of cutting my food intake to a minimum. In addition, my beloved has been cooking a lot lately so as to ensure that we eat the best on offer. Smoking is already behind me. And now I am tackling my alcohol intake. The experts from the WHO would be quite happy with me, I reckon. Even though the cancer surge has not worried me so far, I have turned to prevention well ahead of the timebomb warning. Nonetheless, it surely buttresses my health program pretty well. To put the record straight, though, my restraint has to do with yoga and nothing but yoga. And its restraining advice goes back at least three millennia. Timebomb, what timebomb?
