THE HUM (April 9, 2014)

The chestnut trees on the hotel terrace are in full bloom. All sorts of insects are gathered for the feast. There are butterflies large and small, wasps, bumblebees, flies, and untold bees. The hum is incredible. The continuous droning, purring, buzzing, and whirring sound is so inviting that I cannot but join in every once in a while: “Aaauuummmmmm.” In spite of the wonderful weather, I am alone on the terrace. Minus the merry insects, of course. And I am one with them in the endless hum.
