THE FRESHEST NEWS (October 15, 2014)
No matter how fervently I castigate myself, as well as how often, I am powerless when it comes to all the online newspapers I visit every single day. The same holds for all the comments I make, as well. Dropping the habit is uppermost on my mind, but the monkeys in my brain will have none of it. Without the freshest news, they go berserk. They start by stomping their feet. Then they thrash around like demented. Soon enough, they threaten to blow my mind to smithereens. And so I give in time and time again. They quiet down at once and gobble up whatever is on offer. Any sort of news is to their taste as long as it is fresh. The longer it takes me to write a comment, the calmer they get. They let me toil as long as I wish without a peep. But they get fidgety as soon as I am finished and the comment is posted on the World Wide Web. And so it goes the entire day. The monkeys in my brain are nigh insatiable. Luckily, they are perfectly content even when I write about their shenanigans. Perhaps it strikes them as the freshest news once again.
