It is a special joy to be wearing sandals this late in the season. I do not remember wearing them in mid-October all that often in the past. Central Zagreb is teeming with people, and many of them are also wearing sandals. A good number of them must be rejoicing in their footwear, too. But the end of the belated summer is nigh. Meteorologists forecast rain in the middle of the coming week. It will be raining for days, and the temperature will be dropping. Forecasts of this sort only add to the joy of wearing sandals this late in the season. Chances are that many denizens of the Croatian capital feel the same. We will stick to our footwear till the first drops of rain. And with relish.
