As of 2003, Epiphany is a public holiday in Croatia, which falls on January 6. Marking the end of Christmas, it celebrates the manifestation of an invisible divine being in human form. And that was Jesus Christ, who was visited by the Magi as a newborn. In addition, January 6 is my own holiday that celebrates my rebirth—that is, the initiation of my regular yoga practice in 2008 (“My Own Holiday,” January 6, 2009). Could there have been a more propitious day for my initiation, I ask myself every year on Epiphany? If anything else, it regularly reminds me that I should return to regular yoga practice as soon as possible. Perhaps even today, my own holiday?
