Intelligence of European peoples is in the news. Some Czech mathematician has come up with a map showing the distribution of average intelligence quotients across the sub-continent. The map is all over the World Wide Web by now. Of course, there are strong reactions from all the countries that are belittled by it. Not surprisingly, all the peoples of the Balkan peninsula have turned out pretty stupid. But the map clearly shows economic development in Europe. This is obvious even at first sight. Portugal is behind Spain, Slovakia is behind the Czech Republic, Poland is behind Germany, Turkey is behind Greece, and so on. It is good to remember that the intelligence quotient was thus used to show that Arians are more intelligent than non-Arians, and that whites are more intelligent than blacks. The intelligence quotient does not measure intelligence as such but differences in upbringing having to do with differences in income and the like. So, why is everyone so excited by the silly mathematician’s map? This is but another index of collective stupidity of all Europeans, not to mention the rest of the world.
