FLYING CAMERAS (September 8, 2014)

Motovun is abuzz with flying cameras as of late. And abuzz is the word. The first time around, I thought there was a motorcycle race in one of the neighboring villages, but then I spotted a flying camera hovering above the lower square. The pictures and footage they take are great, I am sure, but their sound is pretty annoying. Day after day. Week after week. Month after month. And their owners do not give a flying hoot about the annoying buzz. They all seem to be over the moon with the new technology. And the best I can do is to think through the most adequate response. Should I go for the sling with pebbles or the air pistol with led pellets, both of which I have at home? For some reason, the old technology strikes me as much more fun at present. Call me a retrograde, but pitting old versus new technology is quite a joy, indeed. What is more, the old technology is entirely noiseless!
