I dreamt of some medical research showing that doctors in Croatia were more successful with a wide variety of cancer treatments than their colleagues in the States. This was a puzzle for researchers, and they spent some time investigating the gap. As it turned out, doctors in Croatia were considerably closer to their patients than those in the States. Thus they had a better feeling of what treatment would be successful. The research ultimately pointed at the need for greater closeness between doctors and patients in the States. In my dream, I had nothing to do with this research. If I remember correctly, I only saw a television show about its conclusions. When I woke up, I could not figure out how such a dream would come my way. The topic is utterly foreign to me. And yet, I felt there was something to the closeness between doctors and patients, and especially in small communities. General practitioners in places like Motovun know a great deal about their patients, including their entire families. Such knowledge is invaluable in any sort of medical treatment. Be that as it may, I quickly got lost in my attempt at comparison of Croatia and the States in terms of the incidence of small communities. My dream was just a dream, anyhow.
