BITTERSWEET REALITY (May 31, 2014)
Thus a large sign in flowery white lettering on the chest of a blue T-shirt worn by a trim man in his mid- to late forties I just spotted in Motovun. He was a part of a large tourist group. I could not tell whether he was alone or accompanied by another person. I could not but wonder how he acquired his T-shirt, though. Something special must have happened to him, I was quite sure. I will never learn, it goes without saying, but I have a feeling it has to do with women. He could have lost one woman only to become acquainted with another one, for instance. Perhaps he got the T-shirt from the latter woman to make him forget the former one. As well as laugh a little about his shifting fortune. This was a few years ago, but he is occasionally laughing about it to this day. And especially when he is on vacation far from home. By and by, I became so convinced with my story that I would not even wish to learn how the man actually acquired his T-shirt. God forbid.
