BACK TO AFRICA (February 10, 2014)

While I am taking my morning shower, I have an unexpected vision. A large but rickety boat packed with people is approaching a rocky coast. A dozen tall men in their prime are standing at the prow, but there are quite a number of old people toward the stern. Blond and fair, they all look Nordic to me. Along the coast, there are many black people with spears and clubs. They are chanting at a clip. “Back to Africa,” it crosses my mind. “The new ice age,” I realize without much ado. My vision is about the return, which will surely be bloody. Africans will defend their shores to the best of their ability, but Europeans will come in millions nonetheless. There will be famine, too. As my vision dispels, I realize that many Africans will also be coming back. After so many generations in Europe, they will be perceived as whites back home. And they will not be welcome at all.

Addendum (February 11, 2015)

My visions are rare, but most of them are quite stunning. Although short, they are sharp, and so they stay with me for years. What amazes me time and again is that my visions are almost always followed by spurts of comprehension. No matter whether they point forward or backward in time, they are rarely perplexing. First I see something, and then I understand it a few seconds later. A year and a day after I saw that large but rickety boat approaching a rocky coast, the vision is still with me. And so is my reading of it. Back to Africa, no doubt whatsoever.
