A MYSTERY FOR ALL (December 1, 2014)
It thundered much of the night and morning. And it rained on and off. But torrential rains came only in the early afternoon. So far, there have been two short but strong downpours with drizzle in between. Coming from the upper square, the water rushed in foaming waves through the archway leading to the lower square. It was as though the sky had opened up never to close again. I was having my lunch at Benjamin’s at the time, and the sound of the water rushing through the archway was simply amazing. By the time I returned home, it was only drizzling again, but the Mirna was already bursting its banks. An hour later, the flooding is quite pronounced. By now, much of the rain that has fallen onto the neighboring hills has reached the valley below. After a few additional downpours of the same intensity, the river would reach the road that runs along its banks. But no-one can tell what will happen next. As of late, no-one even tries to guess any longer. The weather is a mystery for all.
