“UKRAINE ICON CALLS FOR HELP FROM WEST” (March 9, 2014)
Thus The Wall Street Journal today. “Former Ukrainian prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko, feted as a martyr for her country’s freedom by European leaders, has warned that the west risks its credibility by not taking more forceful action against Russia over Crimea,” elaborates the newspaper. A wonderful warning, this. The so-called west actually risks next to nothing in this particular case, though. As far as more forceful action is concerned, it has lost its credibility long ago. Just look into the European Union’s military capability at the time when America is retreating behind its own borders. Besides, Ukraine as a whole is not worth a fight, let alone little Crimea. Sorry, Tymoshenko. But your warning will certainly help the west understand itself a bit better. Forceful action is a thing of the past. Well, everything is a thing of the past by now. So much for the credibility of the west. As for tourism, Ukrainians are always most welcome! The glorious past is everywhere on display.
