“FOREIGN POWERS BUY INFLUENCE AT WASHINGTON THINK TANKS” (September 7, 2014)

Thus The New York Times today. “Prominent think tanks, nonprofits known for their impartiality, have received millions of dollars from foreign governments while pushing US officials to adopt policies that often reflect the donors’ priorities, our investigation has found,” explains the newspaper. Surprise, surprise. Those foreign powers must be nasty as hell. But is this not true of all think tanks in Washington, DC? Are they not receiving millions of dollars from corporations across the globe to buy influence with US officials? The very notion that a think tank could ever be impartial is laughable at best. The only thing worth noting in this article is that some sort of evidence has been put together to buttress the suspicion, but every suspicion of think tanks is warranted even without any evidence at all. For who in the world would ever put all the money a think tank gobbles up year after year without direct interest in the venture? Congratulations, but no cigar.
