TRANSHUMANCE (November 12, 2009)

Now that I effectively live in two places, I am starting to wonder about my habitation status. Sedentary I am definitely not, for I do not have a permanent home. Neither am I nomadic, for I do not wander hither and thither at will. The closest I can come up with is some form of transhumance. Although the term stands for the seasonal movement of people with their livestock, typically to higher pastures in summer and to lower ones in winter, it fits my circumstances reasonably well. Or at least better than the alternative terms. The way things stand at this particular juncture, I am in Motovun a few days before and after my court hearings in Pazin, which are scheduled about a month from each other, and I am in Zagreb between hearings. Transhumance or what?
