Addendum (October 28, 2009)

This was penned just before I set out for Pazin early yesterday morning. To wit, I am still as naïve about this godforsaken country as I used to be when I arrived here so many years ago. Or perhaps even more! The judge did not set me free, it goes without saying. No need whatsoever for such outlandish fears on my part, either. The legal underpinnings of what happened yesterday escape me entirely, for not even my lawyer could explain them to my satisfaction, but it seems rather certain that the court hearings will stretch for quite some time. Anyhow, the most important thing in my mind at this stage is the date of the next hearing set by the judge: November 17. Well, November 17, 2009, to be a bit more exact.
