PARKING IN MOTOVUN (June 24, 2009)

I dreamt that the number of cars in Motovun grew so much that all the tables on the lower square had to be removed to make more parking space. Even the upper square had to be dedicated entirely to parking. The café and the pizzeria in the lower square now operated only in drive-by mode. Because of the huge number of cars, the traffic through narrow streets and small squares was so slow that you could order a coffee or a pizza while driving by the two places. I do not remember anyone being terribly upset by all this. The car was too important to everyone to bitch about changes in town. When I woke up, I remembered many a medieval town in Italy that looked just like Motovun in my dream.
