Thus the title of the book Tomo Vinščak gave me by way of a present just after my court appearance in Pazin this morning. It was written by a colleague of his at the University of Zagreb, a student of Slavic mythology of international renown, but Tomo was the editor. It looks magnificent, too. The symbolism of the title quite pleased me at once, at least in terms of my own rôle in the ongoing political battle in Motovun, but I also felt a pang of resentment on account of my opponent’s place in it.
