It is late Sunday morning. I was awoken by the beeping of the uninterruptible power supply system in my study. It was beeping for a while yesterday afternoon, as well. The weather has been perfect the last few days. No storms anywhere in Istria, that is. It is weekend, too. That is, no major works on the electric power system could be taking place at this time. So, what the hell is going on? I cannot figure it out, but there is one thing that I am certain about: colossal incompetence of the government company that supplies power in Istria. Or anywhere else in Croatia, for that matter. And colossal is the word.
