The two large barrels in my garden were full to the brim yesterday afternoon. Two times seven-hundred liters, to be exact. Filled by the recent rains, which were more than abundant, they offered some security against the summer droughts to come. But one of the barrels was almost empty this morning. At least five-hundred liters are mysteriously gone. Whoosh! Is this the work of the same witch that has been prowling around my house for years? Or should I be suspicious of a dear neighbor? Come to think of it, could there possibly be any connection between the two?
