THE SUN’S SOLE PURPOSE (November 26, 2008)
For the second day in a row, the weather is delicious. Although it is quite cold, especially in the morning, the sky is completely open. Not a cloud in sight. And the sunshine is so dazzling I had to open all the shutters giving onto the terrace. Ranged along all the livingroom walls, my paintings are now glowing in the reflected afternoon light. As I sit at the dining table and stare around me in complete silence, it is as though the sun’s sole purpose is to bring them to life.
