THE SEASON FORMERLY KNOWN AS SUMMER (May 29, 2008)

God only knows what is happening with seasons, but here is what people in and around Motovun have to say about the last six months or so: the winter was unusually mild and long, the spring was unusually short and wet, and the summer has come unusually early and abruptly. Indeed, the summer has arrived about a month early. Judging by the last few days, it is perhaps even two months early. Which is why everyone is a bit uneasy about this season, or the season formerly known as summer. Will it be unusually wet? Will it stretch into the fall, or will the fall come unusually early? So far, the seasons are confusing everyone. And it is likely that they will keep doing so for a long, long time. Until we will all get used to the confusion, and see nothing unusual about it any longer. Seasons, what seasons?
