SMACK BETWEEN NAMIBIA AND SAMOA (December 22, 2008)
I just received an electronic-mail message from a friend who is very well aware of my keen interest in Croatia’s rightful place in the world. He sent me a link to Transparency International’s (www.trasparency.org) latest compilation of its well-established corruption perception index. Out of one-hundred and eighty countries, Denmark is first and Somalia last. No surprises here. And Croatia is in the sixty-first place, smack between Namibia and Samoa. Not bad, not bad. The way things are going, though, such a lofty score may well be a thing of the rosy past. Somalia beckons ever more invitingly!
