ONE DAY (February 3, 2008)

Ever since I started fooling around with my new Residua website, which was about a month ago, I have been spending most of my time transferring and reformatting my old writings. Few other things attract me. Every spare moment I can grab I rush to my study, fire up one of my two computers, and jump headlong into the new site. And I stay at it as long as I possibly can. Little by little, reading has lost its old pull. Even writing has gotten a short shrift. It keeps nagging at me all the while, though. “Damn,” I remind myself several times a day, “look at all this stuff written at the same time two years ago!” Or three years ago. Or only last year. The old writings from the new site are hard to swallow under the circumstances. “Just wait,” I bolster my morale from time to time, “one day the new site will be in perfect order, and then…” One day, indeed.
