I am a pessimist, no doubt about it. For better or worse, my pessimism is rarely off the mark. Me fellow humans nearly always oblige. But I have noticed that things are often a bit worse than I have foreseen them. That is, my fellow humans are ahead of me more often than not. Not by much, but still. Does this mean than I am actually an optimist? Or only an optimistic pessimist?

I am amazed at the economic situation the world faces at present. To the best of my understanding, the rich world is up shit creek. For we are facing depression, no less. Of course, the poor world will suffer the consequences, as well. However, most economists of renown are not as pessimistic as I am. They see solutions to the present troubles all over the place. Now, I am starting to worry about all this. My optimism may be getting the better of me once again. What if things get even worse than I foresee? What if we are facing worse than depression, that is?
