A GOOD THING TO LEARN (November 15, 2008)
After many dark and dank days dominated by the southerly wind, which brings rain to Istria, the sky has opened up with the northerly wind, the bora. It started blowing yesterday. By today, the sky is cloudless and bright. The sun is gradually warming up the air. The day is simply delicious. As I have reported already, I love bora (“I Love Bora!,” December 8, 2003). It is my wind. It makes me feel alive and well. It makes me feel strong. Which also means that I have to take care of myself when the southerly wind is blowing. It saps my energy. It makes me limp and despondent. It makes me doubt my body and mind. A good thing to learn at the tender age of sixty-two, too.
