WOLF, MAN (July 10, 2007)
I am sitting on the hotel terrace when a dog pulling his master appears out of nowhere. The master could be an Austrian or a German, but the dog is undoubtedly a mutt. Like its master, it is quite plump. “Gosh,” it surges through my mind, “you used to be a wolf!” The transformation is stupendous, indeed. “Shit,” it surges through my mind once again, but this time in connection with the master, “you used to be a man, too!” All things considered, the transformation must be about as stupendous as that of the wolf.
Addendum (April 21, 2017)
Amazing, this. Dog is to wolf what a man of this day and age is to a prehistoric man. Having come across this piece entirely by chance, I am taken aback by what I read. The transformation of both wolf and man worthy of that name is no less than mind-boggling. Feeling overwhelmed, I start searching for a remedy of sorts. Luckily, posthistory comes to my mind readily enough. Phew! Soon enough, the human race will be on the road to recuperation once again. And so will dogs of all shapes and sizes. In no more than a few thousand years, everything will be hunky-dory one more time, I reckon. Pieces of writing such as this one will become unimaginable, as well. Alleluia!
