SIDETRACKING (December 22, 2007)

As I have been doing for about a year, if not a bit longer, I am cleaning the house while my beloved is driving to Motovun. As it turns out, this is the most successful way of sidetracking my worry about her safety on the road. This time around my job is a lot more involved, though. The last time she was here, she stayed for much longer than usual. After a longish period of neglect, my house is a total and complete mess. Dust, crumbs, cobwebs, dead insects, and grime galore. I am not complaining, of course. God forbid. The weather is miserable most of the way to my hilltop perch, and I worry for my beloved’s safety more than usual. Much, much more. House-cleaning to the rescue.
