MENTIONED (July 18, 2007)
Rajko Grlić, a Croatian film director of some renown and the leading light of the Motovun Film Festival, came to town this afternoon together with his wife, Ana. I happened to be walking by when they stepped out of their car on the lower square, and I stopped to welcome them to Motovun. “Tell me,” asked Rajko after the usual niceties, “why are you among those thanked by the festival’s organizers?” Apparently, my name can be found in the front pages of the catalogue prepared for this year’s event, which will take place next week. “I have no idea,” I answered, “but chances are I got mentioned because I did not make any trouble this time around.” They both laughed and we cheerfully waved each other goodbye.
