GOOD OLD FRIENDS (September 8, 2007)

It is delightful when good old friends surprise you. The more affable, the better. The louder they are, the jollier is the interruption in your daily routine. You talk. You giggle. You quarrel half in jest. You hug to make up, as it were. You share a glass or two of wine, which makes the unexpected visit so much merrier. So much more enchanting. As an added bonus, the more you enjoy your daily routine when they eventually leave. The silence punctuated by an occasional crack of the wooden floor, yet unused to so many people. The serenity of the world you have built for yourself. It is delightful when good old friends surface out of nowhere, and then leave you in your blessed peace.
