BUT FREAK PERIODS (August 11, 2007)

True, there were periods in the so-called ascent of our species that were glorious. And worth emulating. But such periods were always short—at most two or three generations. Also, they were always far apart—at least forty or fifty generations. In short, these were but freak periods in the supposed ascent of our species. And thus not worth bragging about. Rather the opposite, I would say with some conviction. And, by the way, the period we can call ours, going back two or three generations, is definitely not glorious. Or worth emulating in any sense of that word.
