Without loving—or, rather, without being in love—life can be difficult and sometimes impossible. As being in love with another human being can be difficult and sometimes impossible, too, people have invented god. God who can be loved. Whence the yearning for a god incarnate. God cuddly and adorable, that is. And thus we are back full circle.
