FULL OF SURPRISES (October 12, 2003)

Motovun is full of surprises. Yesterday evening I learned that two out of three grocery stores in town carry blank compact disks. As there are only a few other stores in town, these three carry all kinds of things you would not expect to find in a grocery: electric kettles and toasters, deodorants, brooms and mops, underpants and socks, film, newspapers, screwdrivers and hammers, candles, insect repellents, writing pads, ropes, ashtrays, sandals, pens and pencils, magnetic tapes, towels and table-clothes, screws and nails, torches, condoms, adhesive tapes… This morning I bought a box of compact disks to save my computer files. On top of everything, today is Sunday. As I said, Motovun is full of surprises.
