EARTHSHAKING (October 30, 2003)

I enjoy an occasional fever. Fevers are great opportunities to sift through things. Although the ‘flu that is shaking me is far from fun, it is still blessed with an intermittent fever. Struggling for every breath, now sweating and now shivering, I probed into my life last night. And my book, it goes without saying. “What is my book about?” I kept asking myself. “It is my account of my journey,” I kept answering myself. “And the journey is becoming ever more wonderful,” I kept nodding into the dark. I was sure I was onto something by the morning. Of course, these words sound a bit less earthshaking now that the fever has petered away.
