Two private planes flying Croatian colors have been buzzing Motovun during the film-festival week. The pilots are impressive in their daring and skill, but their near misses of the medieval church tower would be unimaginable in any civilized environment. Here, no-one even notices that something is amiss. In fact, most people in the milling crowd seem to be a bit proud of the intrepid pilots. The recent war is still in the air.
