TWO WOMEN, TWO WIVES (May 20, 2000)
I dreamt I was taking a bath in a large tub with my two women. One was Lauren, I am almost sure, but it could have been Elise, who sometimes appears in my dreams in the rôle of my wife. The other was Anita, I think. The water was not warm enough, and I kept fiddling with the taps, but to no avail. I remember feeling happy about the three of us. It felt so natural to have two women, two wives, not only one. They seemed to be at ease with each other, as well. I took our togetherness as some sort of a proof that polygamy was something perfectly normal, natural. I also remember that there was another woman with us, our close friend. She was in the bathroom with us, but not in the tub. At some point there was a ring at the front door of our apartment, and our friend went out to see who it was. The doorbell gave a strong, sharp, old-fashioned ring. I remember hearing the voice of a middle-aged woman at the door: “I am Mrs. Wilson.” Her voice was pleasantly melodious, but it betrayed the excessive enthusiasm of a busybody. She was somehow connected with our apartment building. My dream then shifted to other things, which I had forgotten by the time I was fully awake.
