Like last summer, this summer I painted only ten boards. I want my project to go on, but I am not eager to add to my board stock at a rate I cannot sustain. All the years when I painted more than forty or fifty boards I felt I was going too fast. I felt my mind could not catch up with my hand. However, a few days ago I decided to return to my project, which I started some ten years ago. I just got ten more boards to paint over the holiday season. They are fresh now, smelling of their native pinewoods. Later today I will sand them, and I will begin painting tomorrow. This is an exciting prospect, as always. I can already see several of them, but the others are still a mystery for me. Ten more boards, twenty more paintings.
