I have noticed that women in the know refer to men to their liking as “evolved,” which is to say sensitive, attentive, generous, caring, gentle. The women in the know have no idea that evolution has long terminated for all practical intents and purposes. What they perceive as evolution is nothing but temporary adaptation to the circumstances of time and place. A good old war, which is always lurking, would sweep away the “evolved” men in days, if not hours. Deep down, women know exactly how things stand, whence the wishful thinking about evolution.

The Soviet army has long been famous for rape in Germany and across Eastern Europe close to the end of World War II. As has transpired only recently, the Allied armies had also indulged in rape in Germany and across Western Europe in the very same period. Americans were foremost among them, it goes without saying. But World War III promises to be much more spectacular in many respects, including good old rape. Evolution, schmevolution.
