CASTING FOR FISH (June 10, 2000)
Many of those in the art world who receive my postcards must be wandering at first why I have started sending them my writings in this form. Then they must be wondering why I persist in view of their silence. After I stop sending them my postcards, they must be wondering why they are not receiving them any longer. Well, like Jesus, I am casting for fish. I cast my net where I suspect there are fish. I do not get discouraged if I catch nothing for quite some time. But in the end I realize there is no sense casting my net at the same place any longer. Some places are barren. There are no fish there. So, I cast my net elsewhere. Although much of the art world is barren, there are still some fish here and there. I have already caught a few. And I love them dearly.
