Kim from St. Luke’s and the Oaks in Reading called this morning: “Your father is poorly.” “Yes,” I said. “Most likely a series of mini-strokes,” she said. “Yes,” I said. “The doctor just saw him,” she said. “Yes,” I said. “Your father will need to go to the hospital if he keeps refusing liquids,” she said. “Yes,” I said. “He may be just fine in twenty-four hours,” she said, “but he may also have a major stroke.” “Yes,” I said. “I will call you again if there is a major change,” Kim said. “Yes,” I said.
