SUZUKI’S FLY (July 27, 1992)

One page of Shunryu Suzuki’s book on zen is dedicated to a life-size picture of a fly.[1] The page with the rendering and the one adjacent to it are otherwise blank. The fly is rendered realistically in black and white. It looks as though it had just landed on the page. This is the only picture in the book. There is no explanation of it anyplace in the text.
