The so-called intelligence quotient or IQ is a questionable measure of human intelligence, but there is none better at this juncture. The average is set at one-hundred. This amounts to the difference between an average human and a rock. But the range between the least and most intelligent humans in terms of IQ is between fifty and one-hundred and fifty on the scale. And roughly ninety-nine percent of “normal” humans fall in that range, for those below fifty are considered mentally deficient. In other words, the difference between humans at the two ends of the vaunted IQ scale is one-hundred once again. Goodness gracious!
