THE DRAFT (May 13, 2015)
If I appear kind of remote and quiet today, it is not because I am not attentive. Far from it. Actually, I am as attentive as I ever have been. My lawyer has sent me a draft of the case for Strasbourg, and I am doing my best not to miss a word in it. A single word may be of crucial importance in such a case. And there are no less than ten-thousand and two-hundred words taking up twenty-five pages. The draft will take me at least a day and maybe even two to go through. Slowly but surely. Indeed, I am nothing if not attentive. The Fifteenth Century Zen master Ikkyu is my guide.
