It is enough to go to a single gathering on climate change to gather that humans are not capable of organizing themselves to save their butts from the calamity.

Only imagine the seven politicians wielding the greatest military power in today’s world gathering to discuss what is to be done about climate change! They are Recep Tayyip Erdoğan (1954), Emmanuel Macron (1977), Angela Merkel (1954), Narendra Damodardas Modi (1950), Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin (1952), Donald Trump (1946), and Xi Jinping (1953), to be a bit more precise (“Remembering Yalta,” May 14, 2018). To begin with, they would not even be able to agree whether or not climate change is a threat, let alone an ever more menacing calamity. All the other gatherings on the subject are nothing if not entirely irrelevant, anyway.
