The heatwave is becoming unbearable. Everybody is talking about the rising temperatures. In fact, people talk about little else the last few days. When I come across friends who have dogs, I ask them how their pets are coping with the misery. In general, they are eating and even drinking less, as well as napping more. “Intelligent creatures,” I chuckle. “And I bet it does not even cross their minds to complain about the weather!” My friends agree wholeheartedly. “They’re more intelligent than us,” one of them nods with conviction. It must be similar with cats and other pets, I guess. They are all eating and even drinking less, as well as napping more. With some luck, pets will teach their masters how to cope with climate change.
